National Day of Prayer observed in Live Oak

Live Oak — About 50 local citizens converged on the lawn of Live Oak City Hall around 12:15 p.m., Thursday in observance of the National Day of Prayer.

Live Oak Mayor Garth R. “Sonny” Nobles Jr. welcomed those in attendance and was followed by Rev. Randy Wilding of Community Presbyterian Church in Live Oak, who read the Presidential Proclamation of a National Day of Prayer.

Wilding, along with eight other ministers and church leaders led the group in prayer for our community, churches, schools, courts, armed forces and government.

Communities all across America assembled in National Day of Prayer services to give thanks and petition requests for guidance and strength.

Thursday’s service was closed with Shirley Kelley of Live Oak Christian Church leading the group in singing God of Our Fathers.
