Joe Jordan of the Jordan Agency passes away

Live Oak —

Joseph "Joe" Jordan, 79, was the founder or the Jordan Agency in 1974. He also raised beef master cattle. He died early Saturday morning at Shands UF in Gainesville. His obituary is below. See more in Wednesday's Suwannee Democrat.

Joseph “Joe” Jordan, age 79 of Live Oak, FL passed away early Saturday morning, October 27, 2012 at Shands UF in Gainesville, FL. He was a native of Mickleton, NJ moving to Live Oak in 1969 from Lake City, FL.  Joe graduated from Gainesville High School in 1950.  He was a self-employed insurance agent having founded the Jordan Agency in 1974.  He started raising beef master cattle in 1979.  Joe dedicated his life to being a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather who also loved his church and doing for others. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. 
He was predeceased by a son, Joe Henry Jordan and a sister, Jane Karasik.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Jordan, Live Oak; one son, Andy (Ramona) Jordan, Live Oak; two daughters, Cindy (Glenn) Horvath, Live Oak; Lynne (Tom) Buchanan, Louisville, KY; his daughter-in-law, Lyn Jordan, Polk City, FL; one brother, Rev. Jimmy (Doris) Jordan, Schnecksville, PA; one sister, Esther Mulheron, Ft. Washington, MD; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 to 7 PM at the First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Herrington officiating. Internment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Food Ministry, 401 W. Howard Street, Live Oak, FL 32064.
