Live Oak — Today starts Florida’s three-day sales tax holiday, just in time for school to begin Aug. 20. The holiday was put into law to help parents with back-to-school shopping. Tax free savings begin today and ends at midnight Sunday. Clothing, backpacks, school supplies such as pens, pencils, crayons, notebook paper, glue and calculators that cost less than $15 an item are tax-free. Shoes that cost less than $75 a pair are tax-free as well. For a full list of tax-exempt items, visit http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/.
