United Way Challengers’ Club Appreciation Event

Live Oak — United Way of Suwannee Valley held a Challengers’ Club Appreciation Event at the Heritage Park & Gardens in Live Oak on May 3.

Sponsored by Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative and DeWitt and Sherri Cason the event was held to thank the Challengers for their support during the 2011-12 campaign.

Sue Tuell 2012-13 Challengers’ Club committee chair welcomed guests to the beautiful home, once the PC Crapps home, that is the centerpiece of the Heritage Park & Gardens facility. Betsy Burch one of 10 children of PC Crapps told a family filled history of the house and Ronnie Poole of Friends of Heritage Parks & Gardens told those present about the plans for the facility. John Martz 2011-12 Challengers’ Club committee chair told Challengers about their campaign results and thanked them for supporting the United Way and their community. The Live Oak Art Guild provided art for the evening which was displayed all over the ground floor family rooms.

Challengers, committee members and guests alike toured the home and enjoyed appetizing food provided by Chef Robbie Thomas and the Dixie Grill.
