Live Oak —
One man is dead and another clings to life in an area hospital following a shooting late Saturday night at a home near Charles Springs in western Suwannee County, according to Suwannee County Sheriff Tony Cameron.
A third person was cut with a knife around the back of the neck.
The shooter, Marcus Cole, 40, of 12803 225th Rd., was arrested and charged with one count of first degree murder. That charge could double if the second victim succumbs to his injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing. However, Cameron said that the deceased is Mike Williams and the second victim is Abe Williams, no known date of birth at this time. Abe Williams is on life support at an area hospital. Cameron said the two are related.
According to Cameron, a group of people, including Mike and Abe Williams, both of Suwannee County, arrived at Cole’s house for a get together. A fight ensued between several people at which point Cole reportedly retrieved a high powered rifle and shot Mike and Abe Williams.
Cameron said that Abe Williams was shot in the head and did not know the specifics of where Mike Williams was shot at this time.
The shooting occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday night.
