Democrat Morning Update for Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013

Live Oak — Weather:

  • Wednesday Isolated showers between 11am and 3pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. Windy, with a south wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 18 to 23 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

     
  • Wednesday Night Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 49. Breezy, with a south wind 9 to 16 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

SUWANNEE COUNTY



State Road 51  Daytime lane closures Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between the Lafayette County line (Hal Adams Bridge) to the roundabout in Live Oak for roadway testing.



US 129  Daytime lane closures Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between the southern Live Oak city limits and US 90 for roadway testing.





HAMILTON COUNTY



Interstate 75  Daytime and nighttime lane closures Monday through Thursday for northbound traffic between State Road 6 (Exit 460) and the Georgia line for paving. Two lanes are closed between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. to pave the center lane. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures. No lanes are closed from 6 a.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Sunday.



State Road 6  Daytime lane closures Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. between the Madison County line (Withlacoochee River) and US 41 for roadway testing.



State Road 143  Daytime lane closures Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Interstate 75 and US 41 in Jennings for roadway testing.



US 41  Possible daytime lane closures after 8:30 a.m. between the Columbia County line (Suwannee River Bridge) and US 129 just south of Jasper to place the final roadway markings and upgrade signals, work on the roadway shoulders and install guardrail at various locations.



US 129  Daytime lane closures after 8:30 a.m. between the western city limits of Jasper and the Georgia line for work on the shoulders and to place the final roadway markings.



LAFAYETTE COUNTY



County Road 354  Daytime lane closures between US 27 and State Road 51 (Hal Adams Bridge) to pave the bike trail on the north and east side of the road.

- Flu vaccine available at the Health Department

Seasonal influenza vaccine is now available at the Suwannee County Health Department. Vaccine is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. The charge is $15 for adults and is free of charge for persons age 6 months through 18 years.
