Rant & Rave - Feb. 15, 2013

Live Oak — Concerning the two condemned buildings to be razed downtown - who is paying for this? I hope its not a sweetheart deal where the city if paying for this or even worse considering purchasing the building! There was alot of damage caused by Hurricane Debby. The owners of this building should not get special treatment. Let their insurance pay for it. If they do not have insurance then they should be like the rest of the Suwannee County citizens trying to figure it out on their own.

To the person ranting about the number of cheerleaders at basketball games....did it ever occur to you that the cheerleaders are there for the CROWD and not just for the players? Those tiny teams have done amazing things in the past four years here at Suwannee, and for nearly three years we couldn't even get a squad to appear at all. We are PROUD to have cheerleaders at our basketball games at LAST, after many years of having none. That's right....ZERO. Went to other schools with at least 15 or more routinely. The gym was recently sold out, standing room only. I'd say there was a reason for there to be as many cheerleaders there as the place can hold.

Bulldog Boys Varsity Basketball - Exciting to watch this year. Thanks for the memories - Everyone plan to be there next year as the program continues to progress in talent and class. Way to go, coaches and players! The town of Live Oak is proud of each one of you.

To my county-wide neighbors:  Please help keep north Florida clean and beautiful.  Spend a little time cleaning a section of a public road.  Make your property look pleasing.  Paint over graffiti you find.  Help keep our parks, boat ramps, etc. attractive.  Thanks!

When discussing illegals in the country we must also look at the Department of Corrections. When an illegal finishes his sentence he gets transferred to INS. Most of the time they hold them for a week or so, give them a court date and let them go. Do they really think they'll come back? Why aren't they deported immediately?

Hello this (inaudible). I’m a subscriber. I just wanted to let you know that the article from the Suwannee Scribbler today, Feb. 6 was absolutely delightful. I was laughing out loud. Kudos to Mr. Jim Holmes.
