We Regret to inform you of the transition of our queen mother & grandmother, Mariah Ann Riley, which occurred on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012.
Mariah leaves a legacy of love and memories to her five children: Mahalia Allen (Live Oak, Fla.), Alice Bell (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), Alma Samms (Percival) (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), Albert Gibson Jr. (Live Oak, Fla.), and Gwendolyn Larry (Miami, Fla.); 12 grandchildren; Angelia Demps (Darryl), Johnnie Allen Jr., Horace Bell Jr., Olivia Williams, Harrison Bell, Aleisia Wright (Tony), Enrique Samms (Alfreda), Albert Gibson Jr., Alicia Michelle Gibson, Velecia Gibson, LaTeesa Allen, and Marcus Allen; 18 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; two sisters; Oreatha Demps (Flint Michigan), and Ruby Martin (Live Oak, Fla.); one brother; Benjamin Holmes (Orlando, Fla.). Fond memories are also left to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mariah will be greatly missed by the Mt. Moriah I.A.M.E Church family and the Live Oak community.

Joe Henry Jordan
July 6, 1953 - Aug. 12, 2012
Joe Henry Jordan, age 59 formerly of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012 in Lakeland, Fla. Joe was born in Gainesville, Fla. on July 6, 1953. He moved with his family to Live Oak in 1969.
Joe graduated from Suwannee High School in 1971 and Mars Hill College in Asheville, N.C. in 1977. He spent the last 28 years working for Publix, most recently as a member of the Quality Assurance team in the Lakeland office.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lyn Aust Jordan, Lakeland, Fla.; two sons, Daniel (Desiree) and David (Amanda) all of Jacksonville, Fla.; his parents, Joe and Julia Jordan, Live Oak; one brother, Andy (Ramona) Jordan, Live Oak; two sisters, Cindy (Glenn) Horvath, Live Oak and Lynne (Tom) Buchanan, Louisville, Ky.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at the Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Drive, Auburndale, FL 33823-0605.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Ameson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823 or to further research in renal cell cancer- the Kidney Cancer Association, P.O. Box 803338 Chicago, IL 60680-3338.

Dennis J. Brown, 65, Live Oak, Fla., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012. The Live Oak native was of Baptist faith.
He is survived by his parents: J.H. & Betty Brown, Live Oak, Fla.; one sister: Pam (Frank) Nobles, Live Oak, Fla.; two nieces: Tara Nobles, Krystyna (Donnie) Taylor; nephew: Alex Nobles and great-niece Addilyn Warner.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 at Orange Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Curry and Rev. Clare Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church before the service.
