The possible downed plane that local officials were searching for in western Suwannee County may have actually went down somewhere in Lowndes County, Ga., according to officials.
Suwannee County dispatch received information shortly before 10 p.m. Monday night that a plane may have went down in western Suwannee County by Moody Air Force Base, who was said to have been tracking the plane.
Officials searched by land and air until after midnight when word was reportedly received from Moody that the coordinates were wrong. The search locally was then called off.
According to officials, Moody was tracking the plane that announced a mayday call before Moody lost communication with it.
