Live Oak —
Live Oak City Administrator Bob Farley, facing camera, speaks to Brent Whitman, public works director, Thursday, in the area of the sinkhole. The back side of the Big Wheel Market Place, facing Warren Street, appears to be sinking into a possible sinkhole which formed after Tropical Storm Debby dropped more than 20 inches of rain on our area.
Geologists are on scene and Farley said DOT arrived as well to assess the situation. Warren Street, Pine Avenue and US 90 from US 129 to Houston Street is closed until further notice.
The courthouse and a couple businesses in the area are also closed until further notice.
