Wednesday crash update: Lake City teen dies from injuries sustained in wreck

Live Oak — The Florida Highway Patrol has released the name of the person that died from injuries sustained in a two vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

Tabitha Guyton Antico, 18, of Lake City, died while en route to the hospital after she pulled into the path of a semi truck and trailer, according to the FHP.

A report by the FHP shows that Antico was traveling eastbound on 216th Street at the intersection with CR 49 around 1:35 p.m. in a 2000 Acura four-door sedan when she entered CR 49 into the direct path of a 1998 Peterbilt semi traveling southbound on CR 49. The front of the semi, driven by James Williams, 42, Lake City, collided with the left side of the Acura.

Williams received minor injuries. A passenger in the semi, Burton Beasley, 43, Lake City, suffered no injuries, according to the FHP. They were both wearing a seat belt.

The FHP reports that Antico was not wearing a seat belt.
