FDOT Road and Lane Closures for September 8-14, 2012

Including Hamilton and Lafayette counties

HAMILTON COUNTY:

Interstate 75 Nighttime lane closures northbound Sunday through Tuesday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. to place the final layer of asphalt in the center lane which will require two lanes closed between US 129 and the Suwannee County line (Suwannee River bridges). Also, daytime lane closures southbound Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to place the final layer of asphalt on the inside lane. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph during lane closures.

US 129 Possible daytime lane closures between the western city limits of Jasper and the Georgia line after 8:30 a.m. to pave side street entrances and to work on drainage in preparation for resurfacing.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY:

County Road 354 Possible daytime lane closures between US 27 and State Road 51 (Hal Adams Bridge) for construction of a new bike trail on the north and east side of the road.

State Road 51 Possible daytime lane closures between County Road 354 and the Hal Adams Bridge for construction of a new bike trail on the east side of the road.

ALACHUA COUNTY:

Archer Road (State Road 24) Daytime lane closures between US 41 in Archer and the Levy County line after 8:30 a.m. for resurfacing the roadway. Also, daytime lane closures between the Levy County line and Southwest 13^th Street (US 441) to repaint the roadway markings.

Hawthorne Road (State Road 20) Possible daytime lane closures between Southeast 27^th Street and Southeast 55^th Boulevard from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for landscaping the medians.

Interstate 75 Daytime lane closures northbound at the Millhopper Road (County Road 232) overpass approximately two miles north of Northwest 39^th Avenue (State Road 222/Exit 390 ) Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to install a pole for a traffic monitoring camera.

Newberry Road (State Road 26) Daytime lane closures from west of Newberry to near the Gilchrist County line as work begins on a safety improvement project. Also, daytime lane closures between Southwest 34^th Street (State Road 121) and the Gilchrist County line to repaint the roadway markings

Northwest 13^th Street (US 441) Daytime lane closures northbound just south of NW 39^th Avenue (State Road 222) to improve the entrance to Shores Animal Hospital.

Northwest 34^th Street (SR 121) Possible daytime lane closures just west of US 441 to improve the entrance to the new Walmart.

Northwest 39^th Avenue (State Road 222) Daytime lane closures west of Northwest 83^rd Street from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for median and driveway modifications near the new Shands medical offices east of Interstate 75.

South Main Street (State Road 329) Nighttime lane closures between Depot and Southeast 16^th avenues from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for GRU to repair a storm sewer pipe.

Southwest 13^th Street (US 441) Daytime lane closures just south of Archer Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for modifications to the pedestrian overpass (old railroad bridge). This work is being done through the City of Gainesville’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and will be ongoing through October.

State Road 121 Daytime lane closures from US 441 to the Union County line to repaint the roadway markings.

US 301 Daytime lane closures northbound near Southeast 166^th Street in Lochloosa Tuesday through Thursday to investigate a sinkhole on the shoulder.

Waldo Road (State Road 24) Daytime lane closures from East University Avenue (State Road 26) to US 301 in Waldo to repaint the roadway markings.

Williston Road (State Road 331) Daytime lane closures from Southwest 13^th Street (US 441) to East University Avenue (State Road 26) to repaint the roadway markings.

West University Avenue (State Road 26) Daytime lane closures between Southwest 34^th Street (State Road 121) and Southwest 13^th Street (US 441) to repaint the roadway markings.

BAKER COUNTY:

County Road 125 Daytime lane closures between Fraser and Odis Yarborough roads north of Glen St. Mary after 8:30 a.m. for widening, paving, guardrail work and drainage improvements.

CLAY COUNTY:

State Road 21 Daytime lane closures from Melrose to Keystone Heights to work on the roadway shoulders.

COLUMBIA COUNTY:

State Road 47 Possible daytime lane closures for northbound traffic at the new Clay Electric site south of Lake City and trucks entering and leaving daily.

DIXIE COUNTY:

US 19 Possible daytime lane closures between State Road 349 in Old Town and the Gilchrist County line after 8:30 a.m. to work on drainage in preparation for resurfacing.

US 19 Possible daytime lane closures northbound south of the Taylor County line for repairs to the Dog Fennel Creek Bridge.

LEVY COUNTY:

Alternate US 27 Possible daytime lane closures after 7 a.m. between County Road 241 and Williston Thursday and Friday to work on drainage in preparation for resurfacing.

State Road 24 No traffic impacts scheduled however, crews are working at the Number Four Channel Bridge about two miles north of Cedar Key until early 2013 for bridge repairs. Boaters are required to use idle speed at the bridge.

MADISON COUNTY:

State Road 6 Daytime lane closures just west of the Hamilton County line (Withlacoochee River bridge) Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine bridge maintenance.

State Road 53 Daytime lane closures from US 90 to the Georgia line to clean the ditches.

TAYLOR COUNTY:

US 98 Traffic is shifted onto the temporary bridge across the Aucilla River at the Jefferson County line and the speed limit is 40 mph. Possible daytime lane closures as work continues to remove the old bridge and construct a new one. No detours will be required for this project.
