Live Oak — Mitigation specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will provide information and advice on cleaning up and rebuilding homes after Tropical Storm Debby at a community event in Suwannee County.
FEMA mitigation specialists – who can explain disaster-resistant ways to repair and rebuild – will be at the Smokin’ on the Suwannee BBQ Festival at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park located at 13944 48th St. in Live Oak. They will be available Friday, July 27, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, July 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p. m.
Mitigation specialists offer suggestions on cleaning mold and mildew. They also provide information on flood insurance.

FEMA’s temporary housing assistance and grants for public transportation expenses, medical and dental expenses, and funeral and burial expenses do not require individuals to apply for an SBA loan. However, applicants who receive SBA loan applications must submit them to SBA loan officers to be eligible for assistance that covers personal property, vehicle repair or replacement, and moving and storage expenses.
