Mother and daughter injured in Sunday morning wreck

Live Oak — A Sunday morning wreck on CR 249 in Suwannee County injured two Jennings residents, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to FHP, a 2006 Mitsubishi driven by Cora Ann Digman, 35, Jennings, was traveling northbound on CR 219 near 16th Trace around 10:15 a.m. As the vehicle approached a left curve in the road, the driver, for unknown reasons, lost control. The vehicle continued traveling off the roadway onto the southbound shoulder and down into a ditch. The vehicle struck a tree with the right side and rotated clockwise. The Mitsubishi came to a final rest facing north off the west side of CR 249.

Digman was transported to Shands Live Oak Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Her daughter, Kendyl Gabrielle Lee, 7, suffered serious injuries and was treated on scene by Suwannee County Fire/Rescue before being airlifted by Trauma One to Shands of Gainesville.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.

Charges are pending, FHP reported.
