Recognizing the rich history of Suwannee County is an everyday occurrence at the Suwannee County Historical Museum in Live Oak. However, the museum hosts several open house events to focus on the many different facets of the diverse history of this region.
Suwannee County Heritage Showcase, “Railroad Days” will take place next weekend. Featuring enhanced displays and program events, the activities of this year’s event will begin on Friday Nov. 2 and continue through Saturday, Nov. 3.
Saturday activities will feature program events including a historical presentation, guided tours, and hands on collection exhibitions.
The Suwannee County Historical Museum is located in the Historic Atlantic Coastline Freight Station at 208 N. Ohio Avenue, one block north of Highway 90. Museum operating hours are Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesdays – Fridays; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Saturdays; 9 a.m. – 12 noon. For more information, call 386.362.1776 or visit www.suwanneemuseum.org.
