Live Oak —
A Live Oak man died from injuries he sustained in a Monday night wreck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to a report, Anthony Crump, 53, Live Oak, was traveling south in a 2001 Dodge Ram on US 129 around 6:25 p.m. Crump began to close in on a slower traveling 2001 Dodge Neon, driven by Rosalynn Griffith, 29, Gainesville.
Crump damaged the right front side of the car when it struck the left rear side of the Neon in the southbound lane. The Dodge Ram traveled in a southeasterly direction onto the east shoulder, striking a tree with its front. After the impact, the vehicle rotated in a counter clockwise direction, coming to a final rest on the east shoulder of US 129 facing in a southeasterly direction.
After Griffith was struck by Crump’s truck, the Neon traveled in a southwesterly direction onto the west shoulder of US 129 where it came to rest facing in a southwesterly direction.
FHP reported that Crump was not wearing a seat belt. Griffith was reported to be wearing hers.
Crump was airlifted to Shands UF where he succumbed to his injuries Tuesday.
