Truck flips twice, 2 narrowly miss injury

Live Oak — On Monday at approximately 10:20 a.m., an accident occurred on US 129 South in McAlpin near 170th Terrace involving a dark grey Ford Ranger XLT pick-up and a yellow Toyota Spyder.

Suwannee County Fire/Rescue units along with the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Highway Patrol were deployed to the scene. No one was seriously injured. There was some dents to the body of the truck, but the Spyder escaped being damaged.

The driver of the truck, Joseph Williams, along with friend, Joey Hall, were northbound on US 129 when the accident occurred. According to Williams, he swerved to miss hitting the back of the Spyder, flipping the truck.

Williams had some minor abrasions but seemed fine.

“Seat belts save lives,” He said. “It worked so good, it won’t come undone now.”

“We flipped (the truck) twice,” said Hall.

The driver of the Spyder was Jerry Heigman.
