Tony Brady Ogburn

Tony Brady Ogburn also known as “LT”, age 24, of White Springs, Fla. passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2012  from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident near White Springs. Tony was born in Gainesville, Fla. on July 15, 1988. He was a Tobacco Prevention Specialist with the Hamilton County Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Coalition and was Swat Coordinator. He had a heart for young people and was involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletics and Future Now.  He served on the Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for two years, initially as Secretary/Treasurer then as Vice President. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club.  Tony attended and was active in the ministry at Melody Christian Church in Live Oak, Fla.  He was preceded in death by grandparents, Irvin and Nora Mae Brady.
Survivors include his father and step mother, Tony and Frankie Brady, Lake City, Fla.; his mother, Sarah Faulkner, Ocala, Fla.; one sister, Kacey Ritch, Lake City, Fla.; grandparents, Randy and Martha Ogburn and Raymond and Barbara Pitts, all of White Springs, Fla.; great grandparents, Nettie Davis, Lake City, Fla., Fred and Delores Melton, Ft. White, Fla. and Mrs. Essie Ogburn, White Springs, Fla.; aunts and uncles, Amanda and Paul Coglon, Lake City, Fla., Randy Jr. and Sandy Ogburn, Byron and Rebecca Ogburn,  Bruce Brady, all of White Springs, Fla., Ann Lofton, Fargo, GA., Nickie Ogburn (Josh Anderson), White Springs, Fla., Tina Pope, Lake City, Fla. and Hannah and Dustin Lord, White Springs, Fla.; niece and nephews, Natalie, Kaden and Louie Whitt; and special cousins, Courtney Cheshire and Tessa Lamb.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at the Hamilton County Courthouse Annex (Old Hamilton County High School Auditorium).Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in White Springs, Fla. A memorial has been set up in the name of Martha Ogburn for the Tony Brady Ogburn Scholarship Fund, 507 Hatley Street S.W., Jasper, Fla. 32052. In a quote from Tony he says, “If you want more out of life all you have to do is put more into it. I’m just one man trying to make a positive change in our community; I can’t change it all but with a strong relationship with God I believe I can inspire others in a positive way to better our County!”
Tony was indeed an inspiration to many and will be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Emory D. McCullers

Emory D. McCullers, 68, Live Oak, Fla. passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 after a long illness. The lifelong resident of Live Oak retired from Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts after fifteen years and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Mr. McCullers is survived by his wife of 50 years: Nancy McCullers, Live Oak, Fla.; three sons: Keith & Samantha McCullers, Live Oak, Fla., Rick McCullers, Live Oak, Fla., Michael McCullers, Live Oak, Fla.; two sisters: Glenda Hughes, Barnesville, NC, Mary Alice Weatherly, Tallahassee, Fla.; three brothers: Al McCullers, Jacksonville, Fla., Jimmy McCullers, Live Oak, Fla., A.G. McCullers, Jr. , Gainesville, Fla.; two grandchildren: Travis McCullers, Jessica MCCullers and one great-grandchild: Jeremiah Clayton. Services were held at Friday, Dec. 28 at Westwood Baptist Church, Dr. Jimmy Deas officiated. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.

Johnnie L . Porter

Johnnie L . Porter, 70, passed away Wednesday Dec.
 26, 2012 at his residence following a long illness. Mr.Porter was born in Miami, Fla. and moved to the O'Brien, Fla. area in 1998 from Ft. Pierce, Fla.  He was a peacetime Veteran of the United States Army, and was a retired lineman with Florida Power & Light with 43 years of service in St.Lucie and Columbia County. He was a member of the Northern Florida Christian Center.
Survivors include is wife, Christine Porter of O'Brien, Fla., five daughters, Bonnie Bender of Melbourne, Fla. Jessie Abitino of Melbourne, Fla., Jamie Lee Porter of Eglin Air Force Base, Wendy Whitfield of O'Brien, Fla., Sherrie Mattatall of West Palm Beach, Fla., one son, Edward Palm of West Palm Beach, Fla., one  sister, Patricia Stone of Pleasant Grove, AL., four brothers, Ronnie Porter of Athens, GA., Jimmie Porter of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mark Porter of Demorest, GA., Kenny Porter of Sebastian, Fla., 11 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild  also survives .
Funeral services were conducted Saturday Dec. 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Norther Florida Christian Center, O'Brien, Fla., with Rev. Retha Garten Officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Jene Wagner

Jene Wagner, age 67 of Live Oak, Fla. passed away Friday,
 Dec. 28, 2012 at Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, Fla.  The Live Oak Native returned to this area in 1974 from Jacksonville, Fla.  She was a homemaker and Baptist by faith.  Jene dedicated her life to being a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Those who knew her would say she always thought of others before herself.  Having affection for injured or odd animals, she took care of many strays.  In her spare time she loved collecting clowns and as a result had an extensive collection.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Wagner, Live Oak, Fla.; two sons, Guy Larson, Lake City, Fla.; Dustin Wagner, Live Oak, Fla.;  two daughters, Rhonda Arnold, Inverness, Fla.; Tracy Guillery, Live Oak, Fla.; her mother, Elizabeth “Liz” Durbin, Live Oak, Fla.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation was held New Years day, Tuesday, Jan. 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 in the Live Oak Cemetery with Mr. Stanley Cribbs officiating.
