Live Oak —
Detectives with the Live Oak Police Department have arrested three juvenile males for a rash of vehicle burglaries that had been occurring in the Sherwood Forest subdivision area of the city since the mid part of December, LOPD Det. Justin Bates reported.
Bates said that detectives were able to follow up on several leads during their investigations, but were unable to locate anything to aid them. However, the trail grew hot on Jan. 13 when one of the victim’s credit cards was used at a local restaurant to make two purchases.
“At that point, detectives were able to obtain video from that restaurant and identify the subjects that were involved in the burglaries,” Bates wrote in a press release. “With further investigation, detectives were able to locate all the subjects involved and obtained incriminating information.”
Bates said the LOPD was able to solve eight vehicle burglaries that were all committed by the three.
“Charged in these offenses are three juvenile white males ranging from 17-years-old to 15-years-old,” Bates reported. “All of these juveniles have been charged and are currently awaiting follow-up from the Department of Juvenile Justice.”
Anyone with information about any crime is asked to contact Bates at 386-362-7463 ext. 232, or Crime Stoppers at 386-208-8477.
