Rant & Rave - March 22, 2013

Live Oak — Come on City Council, hasn't the CRA already wasted enough tax dollars? Now you are considering "buying" the downtown sink holes. If the owners of the buildings give you enough money to cover all demolition costs that is one thing. I'll bet the City spends $40,000 - $50,000 of OUR tax dollars just in the demolition and debris removal. Quit wasting taxpayer money.

even thoe the county is wet things are still the same they need to bring more jobs and let people make and honest living

****

Can Mr. Prins be arrested for threatening the life of an elected official? I would hope that he is not being protected by his occupation (Sheriff's Department).

****

The sawmill is supposed to fuel the economy.

My husband just showed me the place. Over a THOUSAND ACRES of decimated land.

As a conservationist I cried. A THOUSAND ACRES of trees cut down.

What this deforestation will do is a number of things

A. Remember that trees make oxygen

B. Animals LIVE in forests

C. It will drive the forest residents further into developed lands meaning we will see and hear more of man/animal encounters. In other words, we will see more prey animals in our back yards (squirrels, rats, rabbits etc) and what will follow them will be the predators. People will "assume" that their is a population control issue with the predators and take on personal vendetta's to eradicate the animal from their property.

Here I am trying to save an animal a world away and may very well have to take a stand here in my own back yard.

Be prepared for more wildlife sightings/fatalities and conflicts

In today's society of rampant gun violence, the threat to the Mayor's life should be taken seriously. Can't the City Police Department do something about it? Can the Governor suspend or remove Mr. Prins?

****

If the Mayor's life is being threatened in his official duty, shouldn't the City be required to provide him with around the clock security?

****

Mr. Prins should formally apologize to the Mayor and resign.

****

At will employees. ..hum sounds like a few of our city councilman like being able to manipulate and play with our department heads like puppets and are afraid to have to justify any potential negative actions they may decide to impose. Where is the councils accountability to the employee and public

****

Completely disgusted with some of our city council members. You as councilman were elected to help grow our city in a responsible and accountable manner. Instead we have council members voting their own private and persoal agendasfor their business gains ie. The alcohol sales acter 1 am. That only benifits bar and club owners, after all apple bees and road house stop serving at 11 and 12 o clock. Thank you for your ethical and moral stance mayor nobles, councilman Grantham and Mixon

****

I doubt Adam Prins will resign. The Mayor would be in charge of his replacement and I'm sure Mr. Prins would not want to anoit that power.

****

Our mayors reasoning against no sale of alcohol on Sundays makes no sense and is without evidence. He should "man-up" and admit religion is his real reason.

****

Councilman Prins should resign.

****

If Prins chooses not to resign, can he be removed from office? What are the steps to start that process?

----

The dump trucks have destroyed 169th road for the Klausner project. The county dug up the road and filled with dirt.Is that fixing it?

****

The sawmill might be good for some people but for the people that live on 169th they’re tearing up our road, they force us off the road. Those big trucks are not made to run on 169th. Make them make their own roads.

****

The City has enough issues to address without having to deal with Adam Prins' ego. He needs to go for the good of the City.

****

I laughed when I read that Councilman Prins wants to just "move on." Wow. Yes, we do need to "move on" finding his replacement.

****

Dirty politics is the name of the game in Live Oak. The Mayor must be scared. Resorting to mud slinging is a clear signal he feels cornered. Hold your head high Mr. Prins. You are trying to make effective and much needed reforms in government. We need more statesmen like you, willing to tough it out to make things right.

****

I do agree with Mr. Prins that the

politics in Live Oak are at an all time low. And it all started when

he came onto the Council. And no we are not going to get past this one.

His actions are an embarrasment to our city. The City Council is no place for a juvenile bully. You're

headed for the NFL, which means Not

For Long.
