Live Oak —
Live Oak Mayor Sonny Nobles presented a letter to the Live Oak City Council and the Suwannee Democrat this morning that stated his reasons for vetoing the proposed city alcohol ordinance that would have extended the hours of alcohol and liquor sales to Sunday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.
The Live Oak City Council voted Feb. 12 to extend the hours. The extension remained off the law books until the mayor made his decision of either signing the ordinance or vetoing it.
Should the council decide to override the mayor’s veto decision, four out of five councilmen would have to vote in favor of overriding him.
