Robert Tracy ‘Bob’ Hayes, 73, of Live Oak, FL passed away on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. The Jasper, FL native served for over 20 years in the U.S. Army having tours in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Hayes was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, U.S. Army Recruiter Badge with Gold Star and the Bronze Star Medal. Bob was a past member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He and his wife moved to the Live Oak area 15 years ago from Melbourne, FL.
Mr. Hayes is survived by his loving wife: Linda Hayes, Live Oak, FL; two daughters: Allison & Richard J. Bergamini, Loxhatchee, FL; Laurel & Daniel Crespo, Melbourne, FL; son-in-law: Richard Mclean; and four grandchildren: David Michael Stump, Jr., Kayla Stump, Brittany Mclean and Christopher Mclean.
He was preceded in death by his daughter: Stephanie Mclean.

Cora Williams

Cora Dell Barrett Williams, age 77, of Jasper, FL. passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, FL. following a brief illness. Mrs. Williams was a native of Dahlonega, Georgia born on December 6, 1934 to the late Dock and Mary Flora Dowdy Barrett. She met and married the love of her life and together they started a family. She worked at Griff Pine Enterprises in Fargo, Georgia before moving to Jasper in 1968. Cora is remembered fondly and described as the epitome of a true Proverbs 31 “Wife of Noble Character”. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. Mrs. Williams spent many hours looking after those she held close to her heart. She took care of her household and worked full time at Occidental Chemical Company near White Springs as an executive secretary and later retired from the White Springs Federal Credit Union where she was an IRA manager. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, all of her brothers and sisters and twin daughters, Carol Ann and Cheryl Jan.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James Alfred Williams, Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Bill Trinder ; a son and daughter-in-law, Al and Tessy Williams, all of Jasper, FL.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Zipperer, Sue Thornbury (Glen), Will Harvey (Brandi), Shirley Smith (Jay) and Jenna Zeigler (Jami); nine great grandchildren. At the time of her death Mrs. Williams was expecting a new great grandchild and a great- great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Eternal Hope Church of God in Jasper, FL.
Interment followed at Fargo Cemetery in Fargo, Georgia.
Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William V. Watts, Jr., devoted husband, father, “Pawpaw”, uncle, and brother, of Jennings, Fla., died on Aug. 28, 2012, at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Fla. He was born Feb. 10, 1944, in Atlanta, Ga., the son of William Vernon Watts, Sr. and Onnie Irene Mewborn Watts. He was married to Lottie Ophelia Traylor Watts, who survives, on Jan. 25, 1980. Bill was employed by Roadway Express as a truck driver for 32 years, working out of Atlanta, Memphis, Chattanooga and Valdosta.
He was much loved by his family, who include, brothers Richard Watts, and wife, Sandy, of Destin, Fla.; Harold (Scott) Watts, and wife, Jan, of Jonesboro, Ga.; Nicholas Watts (pre-deceased), of Ringgold, Ga., and Shirley Watts Spradlin (pre-deceased) and her husband, Jimmy, of Griffin, Ga. He is also survived by his children: Mary Elizabeth High, and husband, Myron, of McDonough, Ga.; Jeffery William Watts, and wife, Linda, of Jackson, Ga.; Tim Watts, and wife, Dawn, of Ooltewah, Tenn.; Mark Watts, and wife, Tiffany, of Hampton, Ga.; step-sons, George Jones, and wife, Donna, of Forest Park, Ga.; Nathan Jones, and wife, Rebecca, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., and daughter-in-law, Julie Chloupek, and husband Bernie, of Terre Haute, Ind. He was devoted to his 26 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and his many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church, in Jackson, Ga. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Arthritis Foundation.
