Edna W. Carter

Edna W. Carter, age 95 of Live Oak, Fla. went to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 14, 2013.  The Perry, Fla. native lived most of her life in Live Oak.  She dedicated her life to being a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who loved her family with all her heart.  During WWII she was an inspector of airplanes for the Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA.  She retired from Tropicana Glass Plant in Bradenton, Fla.  Edna loved to travel and had visited most of the United States. She loved to drink coffee and enjoyed sewing, gardening and fishing and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel L. Carter, Sr.
She is survived by three sons, Sam & Kathy Carter, Live Oak; Fred & Jean Carter, Youngsville, NC; David & Karin Carter, Lutherville, Timonium, MD; one daughter, Mary Ellen & Reggie Hodge, Sebastian, Fla.; one brother, Charles “C.B.” Willis, Valdosta, GA; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 15 from 5  to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 in the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. David McKeithen and Rev. Robert Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 5203 CR 795, Live Oak, Fla.  32060.

Amaryllis Irene Bronson Neil

Amaryllis Irene Bronson Neil, 75, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away on March 12, 2013. She was born in Williston, Florida on March 29, 1936 to the late Thomas Edward, Sr. and Rebecca O'Steen Bronson. Irene graduated from Gainesville High School in 1955. She earned a competitive academic scholarship to the University of Florida where she graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor's Degree in English and Speech. She later earned a certification in Exceptional Student Education with a focus on Learning Disabilities from Valdosta State. She was married to Jean A. Neil on Aug. 9, 1959. Mrs. Neil taught in Bartow, where she began a speed reading program for her students. Mrs. Neil retired from teaching in 1998 from Suwannee High School, where she assisted in building the ESE program. She was also one of the founding members of the Steve Selph Memorial Scholarship. She was also an active member of the Live Oak Church of God, where she assisted weekly with the audio-visuals. She was survived by her sister, Kathryn Harris (Theo); her brothers, Marion Bronson (Joanne) and David Bronson; her sons, Kevin A. Neil (Tammy) and Ron D. Neil (Hollie); and three grandchildren, Matthew D. Neil, Rebecca A. Neil and Haley N. Neil. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Edward Bronson, Jr. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Live Oak Church of God. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service.

Gerald H. Clayton

Gerald H. Clayton , 85 , passed away Tuesday March 12, 2013 in Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City , Fla.
Mr. Clayton was born in Jefferson County , Fla. and lived in Lafayette County. He was a retired bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines with 28 years of service, and  a Veteran of the US Air Force and the Navy .Survivors include, one daughter, Sharon Holt of Texarkana, Ark., one sister, Myrtle Chesson of Branford, Fla. 2 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren also survive. 
There will be a private family gathering at a later date .

Richard Allen Wilson

Richard Allen Wilson, Age 69, passed away Sunday afternoon March 10, 2013 in Lake City, Fla. at the Haven Hospice.
Richard was born in Durand, Michigan on March 10, 1944.
Making his home in Suwannee County, Fla. in 1989,
Richard Wilson served in Vietnam, making his occupation in construction.
Survivors are his present wife Kathy of 15 years, from previous marriages, 2 daughters, 7 sons, and 21 grandchildren.
Mr. Wilson was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend.

Mildred E. McQuaig

Mildred E. McQuaig, resident of Jasper, Fla. passed away March 1, 2013 at Surrey Place Care Center, Live Oak, Fla. following an extended illness.  Mildred, 83, was born March 2, 1929 in Lake Park, Ga. to Joseph E. Zipperer and Annie Lee Cone Zipperer. She was a housewife and homemaker. She loved gardening of any kind and acquired the reputation of having a “green thumb”.  She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Walter E. Nolen, Jr. and James W. Nolen.  Cherishing memories: children, Lawrence Clyde Christie (Rachel), Milton, Fla., Carolyn A. Storie (Tom), Holley, NY., Shirley A. Frank, Jennings, Fla. and Doris M. Gonzalez (Reynaldo); nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life is forthcoming and will be announced later.

Anthony Crump better known as “Tony” passed away March 5, 2013 in Shands Hospital of Gainesville, Fla.
Mr. Crump is survived by his wife Mrs. JoAnn Crump, one son, Brian Smith; his mother, Mrs. Imogene Crump; mother-in-law, Mrs. Alice James; two sisters: Ema and Faye; two brothers; Tyrone and Timothy; aunt: Rev. Rosa Ford; uncle: Rev. Eugene Mobley and many other close relatives and friends.
Viewing for family and friends will be Friday, March 15, 2013 in Mt. Zion A.M.E.
Funeral services for Mr. Anthony Crump will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013 in the Ebenezer A.M.E. Church 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Beulah Hill Cemetery.
