VALDOSTA — Georgia high school track and field teams are rapidly approaching their region meets. Until then, one last weekend invitational will gear them up for the postseason.
Saturday, Valdosta High hosts the Last Call for All Invitational. Eleven teams have signed up, including Valdosta, Lowndes and Highland Christian. No others from Region 1-7A have signed up, but plenty of other area schools will be there.
Field events are scheduled to start at 9:45 a.m., according to information posted on MileSplit.
All events will take place, including pole vault. Medals will be given out to the top three places in each event, with trophies for the top three teams.
Admission is $5 to the Last Call for All.
Region is set for April 24 at Lowndes. Besides Lowndes and Valdosta Region 1-7A’s teams are Camden County, Colquitt County and Richmond Hill. Sections are to be May 4, , at Valdosta High.
